Erfahrungsbericht eines Krankenhausmitarbeiters

Cassutt111m, A rational person, Hugh7, Iris and many others; thank you for all the great insight and information. I have to say that after seeing the videos of the babies being circumcised and the obvious ungodly horrendous pain they had to suffer and endure at the hands of the doctors, I will never forget their faces and their screams. I cannot believe that anyone could do that to another human being especially a child. They would never do that to an older child or adult without putting them under or giving them an epidural/local or something for the pain.

There was one video that I watched where the baby had clearly been given something to drug him because his cry reflected it and his body limpness while in the constraint showed it. Then they injected his penis with lidocaine and proceeded to cut, pinch, clamp and further cut a pretty significant amount of his skin off his penis. And the doctor kept telling the mother who was there "see how pretty his penis looks now" and kept saying that over and over while he was admiring his work. That gave me the impression that it is more about aesthetics than anything. Most parents are never allowed in while the procedure is being done, but this mother was there and they took steps to eliminate/reduce the babies pain for her benefit/sake I am sure and for the video documentary of the circ, but it is my understanding from what I have seen personally and from what I have read; that over 75% of the time, no anesthetic of any kind is used for this surgical procedure behind closed doors in the hospitals and facilities. I have heard and seen circumcisions while working at hospitals and they lie through their teeth to the parents when they say "he slept right through it" when they bring the baby back to the parents; when in fact their baby was actually in shock. I know this because I was there, I heard and I saw and I knew. I heard the babies scream so hard, so long and so loud that I just wanted to puke. I have shared and will continue to share what I have learned here and already knew from common sense and personal experience about this practice to anyone who is considering doing it to their child. Maybe they will at least insist that the baby be given medication to eliminate the pain orally and at the surgical site if they decide to go through with it at the very least.
