And the average botch rate for Dr performed circumcisions is 11%, Mohel's have a lower rate at just 1% (so obviously it is safer to use a Mohel). These are rates for serious botches, not just small problems like my husbands, but problems such as post op infection, penile amputations, excessive blood loss, excessive skin removal resulting in an inability to acheive erection, uneven skin removal resulting in painful curved erections, hidden penises, nephrosis of skin (this is exclusive to the plastibell circ method) and death.
