Pille für den Mann: A Better Pill To Swallow?

Male contraceptive research is driven more by intellect and less by emotion, Eberhard Nieschlag and Alexander Henke, of the University of Münsters Institute of Reproductive Medicine in Germany, write in a recent issue of The Lancet. A bit more emotion and a few prominent proponents would hasten progress in male contraception and complete this chapter of gender equity.
The fight for parity, so often waged by women, is a new one for many men. Callers to His Side, a nationally syndicated radio show, often complain that they wish they had more say in contraceptive decisions. A male pill, says host Glenn Sacks, would give them a little of the reproductive control they say they lack. Theres a lot of frustration that men feel because they feel that women have all the power, and all men have is the responsibility, he says. I think men feel it would be very empowering.
