The Men’s Directory (TMD) was compiled using web-based research and therefore is biased by current database representation and www-visibility. A number of databases and search engines were used including Google search, Google books, Worldcat, Netlibrary, and all databases identified as relevant (especially in section 9). It is also biased for Anglophone entries. However, limited efforts were made to include non-Anglophone entries.

TMD is available in PDF format only, from mensstudies.info, and can be searched fulltext using freely available software (Acrobat Reader). Please use the Contents section, sections 18 (Abbreviations) and 19 (Index), Acrobat search (ctrl+f), and PDF bookmarks as navigation tools.
