4000 nie stattgefundene Vergewaltigungen im Irak führen zu echten Morden

Howdy :-)

Folgendes kam gerade über meinen Newsticker:

Fanned by the Islamist press, Turkey is up in arms over the rape of thousands of Iraqi women and young girls by American troops. The outrage even led a man with a prosperous shop, two homes, 5 children and 2 grandchildren to blow himself up, along with a truck filled with explosives, in front of a Turkish bank -- killing 12 people. There's only one problem. The whole crisis is based on a misunderstanding. Sex therapist and sex entertainer Dr. Susan Block of Los Angeles published a political opinion piece on her Web site entitled, "The Rape of Iraq." In it she used the sexual metaphor to describe the U.S. invasion of Iraq. She wasn't writing about actual rapes. Enter Turkey's leading Islamist journal Yeni Safak, which quoted Block's column in an October 22 front-page story reporting over 4,000 "known" rapes by U.S. soldiers. The U.S. Embassy in Ankara has strongly denounced the story. And Dr. Block's response is, "I am a sex therapist and I use sexual terminology for political commentary. I did not say American troops are literally raping Iraqi women . . . I am appalled to be misquoted and even more appalled that the story inspired someone to such violence."
